Maple-Ash Landscaping
Landscape maintenance, design, desert landscaping, turf and pavers for Maple-Ash homes and properties.
Maple-Ash is one of Tempe's older neighborhoods, near the ASU campus, with small mid-century houses on tree-lined streets. Many yards have mature shade trees and older lawns.
Some older Tempe neighborhoods still use flood irrigation. If your yard has it, we design planting and berms around the flood schedule, and protect the roots of mature trees during any work.
We also maintain yards in Maple-Ash on a weekly, biweekly or monthly schedule, and provide grounds maintenance for HOAs, apartment communities and businesses in the area.
The City of Tempe offers a grass removal rebate for single-family homes: $0.50 per square foot of grass removed, up to $2,000 per home per fiscal year. You need pre-approval before any grass comes out, and the converted area needs low-water plants covering at least 30% of it. Questions go to Tempe Water Conservation at 480-350-8351 or conservation@tempe.gov.
Designing around established shade trees.
Smaller, lower-water yards.
Drip for beds, flood for trees where it applies.
Yes. Mature trees are hard to replace, and we design the new landscape around them.
Some plants do not like standing water. We place them on raised areas or outside the flooded zone.
